What Twenty Years of Code Taught Me About Patience

I wrote my first program in 2004. It was a calculator in Visual Basic and it did not work. I spent four hours on it. When I finally got it to add two numbers correctly I felt something I have felt only a few times since. It was not pride. It was recognition.
