The Night I Rebuilt Our Server From a Café in Berlin

It was a Thursday in November and I was in Berlin for a conference. I had left the office in Vienna two days earlier. Our production server went down at 11 p.m. Berlin time. I was in a café called Roamers in Neukölln drinking a beer with a colleague when the alerts started.
